GNU stands for: “GNU is not UNIX”. It is the name of an operating system.
The name “GNU” is often used to identify projects that are under the auspices of the “GNU project”. All related projects are FLOSS. In the context of Pascal, the GNU Pascal compiler (GPC) has to be mentioned.
