Hi folks, probably you followed a link to my page because I edited a page and you want to leave a comment; please feel free to do so.

About me

If you're still reading this, you may want some more information about myself—so read ahead.

How I came to Lazarus and Free Pascal:

  • Started programming in Delphi 7 in secondary school (about year 2005/2006)
  • Further programming at home with Delphi 7 personal
  • First look at Lazarus version 0.9.x (some early version I don't remember, but it couldn't compete with my feeling of Delphi)
  • Second look at Lazarus version 0.9.28 (yeah, it's better now)
  • Moved to GNU/Linux as primary operating system
  • Stuck on Lazarus and Free Pascal on Debian Lenny (Lazarus—what else)

Unfortunatly there are no software releases by me you—neither online nor offline as closed source. The most of my free time I've spend fooling around with the capabilities of the pascal language. And the only two tools in production use are a HTML-Generator for a special definition list and a music wish list based on SQLite.

But now I'm spending more and more time hanging out with friends and programming becomes less important in my private life (maybe because I'm a software devoloper/SAP consultant at work).

Beneath programing there are some other things I do:

Maybe you've already guessed: Yes, I'm from Cologne (en), Germany (en).

Technology

Here you can find a list of topics I've used Lazarus and Free Pascal with and other topics I'm familiar with.

  • Crosscompiling linux-x86 to wince-arm
  • XML processing
  • SQLite3 Databases (direct API access)
  • Access Databases and VBA programming (thats what I'm paid for)
  • MySQL usage
  • Linux administration (SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 for SAP systems, but no heavy load production site—just demo systems)
